How to ask the Right (sub)Questions:
It's important to word your questions so that the chatbot can search google for the right information and successfully synthesize an answer. While your “Main Question” should be more complex, the sub-questions will benefit from being both simple and verbose.
Example:
What is the focus of your search?: Adidas and AllBirds
Main Question: Should Adidas attempt to acquire AllBirds?
Supporting Questions (Bad):
Are their portfolios complementary?
Supporting Questions (Good):
What is Adidas' shoe product portfolio?
What is AllBirds shoe product portfolio?
Suggestions:
Be specific: Notice that the first question mentions neither company. While it is possible to get good responses like this, you greatly increase your chances by adding company names.
Keep it simple: Additionally, splitting the question into two simpler questions makes each an easier one to get a good answer to, by searching for relevant documents and then synthesizing the evidence.
